Horseback Riding in the Snow/ Del’s Triangle Tree Ranch

For a truly unique experience, take a horseback ride in the snow! Let our surefooted horses guide you through the snow-covered aspen trees in the silence of Winter’s simple beauty. Once you leave the corrals you will not see a sign of civilization until your return. We’ve lived in the valley for 6 generations and have been outfitting and riding horses through the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness area, located in the Routt National Forest, since 1962. We recommend you wear ski clothing for the winter rides.

18 miles north of the town of Steamboat just past historic Clark, Colorado.

Horseback Riding in the Snow/ Saddleback Ranch

Join us on a 2 hour horseback ride over the hills and through the tree-lined ridges of snowy Saddleback Ranch. Gaze at the Flat Tops, Sleeping Giant and Mt. Werner. Let us show you where our ancestors built their homestead and ranched more than 100 years ago. After your ride, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies, then try your hand at calf roping. (Sorry no tandem horseback rides.)

Steamboat Tubing

Steamboat tubing is located at Saddleback Ranch on The Yee-Haw Tubing Hill. Tubing rates and hours are subject to change each year. Call direct for questions at 877-783-2628.

Tubing sessions last around 1.5 hours. Snow tubing is suitable for kids and adults of all ages. All riders must sign a waiver and under 18 years olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Sweet Pea Hot Springs

Enjoy a scenic trip up to the famous Strawberry Park Hot Springs with Sweet Pea Tours. Soak in therapeutic, thermal pools with temperatures from 101º-105º. Guests are guaranteed a soak time of at least 1 hour and 15 minutes. Group and private tours are available. Guests need to bring their own towels, swimsuits, warm clothes, and beverages, but no glass containers, food or alcohol. Reservations are required. All reservations are non-refundable unless canceled 24 hours prior to tour time.  All tours include door-to-door roundtrip transportation, heated changing room, and admission to the Hot Springs. Steamboat Terrain Park / Lil’ Rodeo Terrain Park

Steamboat strives to offer different levels of heart-pounding excitement to skiers and riders through four different terrain parks!  Lil’ Rodeo Park is a friendly base area beginner park popular with kids of all ages and typically is the first of the resort’s parks to open

You can start small with the Lil’ Rodeo Terrain Park. In early season, it’s also the spot for medium jumps and boxes. Lil’ Rodeo is your first step to mastering park riding with ride-on features and mini features.

With visibility from the base area, your friends and family can watch you easily style it.

Steamboat’s terrain parks are easily accessed by two chairlifts, Christie Peak Express and Bashor Chairlift which means more runs for fun!

From jibs to jumps, rails to boxes, start your own progression session.

Take your freestyle riding to the next level in Mavericks Terrain Park.  The largest features on the mountain will push your riding to that next level and with a variety of log, rails, boxes, and jumps, you have plenty of features to play with all day.

The Steamboat Ski Touring Center has 15km of groomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trails for all ability levels, winding through the aspen groves and along beautiful Fish Creek, offering some of the most enjoyable and accessible wintertime recreations in the Yampa Valley.

Steamboat Snowmobile Tours

Discover the beauty of the Colorado backcountry. Along with great skiing, Steamboat Springs is known for an extensive trail system for every snowmobiler’s dream experience. No matter what part of the Yampa Valley you are looking for, you will find an enjoyable and unforgettable event!

A credit card will be asked for a deposit on equipment and to hold reservations. All participants must sign a liability waiver. Winter activity attire is required, please dress appropriately. Enjoy the starry night aboard Ragnar’s snowcat sleigh ride dinner!  Experience the quintessential Colorado evening. Let the Steamboat Gondola whisk you to a waiting sleigh that draws you underneath starry skies to Ragnar’s. Enjoy a five-course continental cuisine dinner with a Scandinavian flavor and live acoustic entertainment. Ragnar’s Sleigh Ride Dinners are offered Friday through Sunday nights and additional holiday evenings only. Children ages 5 and under are not recommended. Reservations required. Holiday pricing may vary. Groups over 25 call 970-871-5162 for reservations. In the case of extreme weather, the Gondola may have to be closed for evening on-mountain dining activity. If this is the case, rescheduling or refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Saddleback Ranch

Saddleback Ranch is an 8,000-acre fourth generation family owned an operated working cattle ranch. Saddleback Ranch is pleased to offer two Sleigh Ride options for you and your family. There is nothing quite as peaceful as taking a sleigh ride at night with the only sounds being the horses walking through the snow, the bells jingling on the harness and the distant howl of a coyote. Relax, cuddle up with a nice warm wool blanket (provided), and take a look at the stars and the moonlight making the snow glisten like diamonds.

Dinner Sleigh Ride
It’s a 40-minute ride to the Double Dollar Lodge, you will be greeted with a warm cup of hot chocolate or hot apple cider and the smell of delicious home-cooked meal.  During dessert, listen to some old-fashioned entertainment. After dessert, let us teach you how to calf rope. You’re sure to have a great time! It’s a very family friendly experience! The Steamboat Ambassadors conduct a free (with a lift ticket) guided snowshoe tour. The tours offer breathtaking views of the Yampa Valley and the Flat Top Mountains. Tours depart from the Information Center at the base of the Gondola daily.
