At Monarch Mountain
There’s nothing better after a day of skiing or riding than soaking your tired body in hot water. The pool is open daily and offers guests a chance to relax in a soaking pool or the ability to swim laps in the larger, cooler pool. Conveniently located on Hwy 50.
For those looking for an alternative to the slopes, yet still want to get some riding in, look no further than the Salida Skate Park. Located right downtown at 200 W. First St., this small but well-designed park is the perfect place. Built by Team Pain, this skate park features bowls with three different depths, good coping, speed lines, hips, and corners. A street course is also available for those looking to master their tricks.
Here at Monarch Mountain, we are constantly working on our terrain parks; improving, shaping and using the varied snowfalls to help manipulate the terrain. One of the beauties of our parks is the low key attitude. Unlike the bigger terrain parks at other resorts, ours are super relaxed. Beginners won’t feel intimidated by boisterous crowds while the more advanced skiers and riders have plenty of options to choose from. The terrain parks include fun-boxes, rails, hips, and huge hits. Get out there and check out why so many people are coming back for more.
There are no lines to wait in, lots of options to play with and great snow to land on! Once you get a taste of the Monarch Mountain Terrain Parks, you’ll find yourself doing laps all day.
Ever have dreams of being in the Masters? Rocky Mountain Mini golf is the place to practice before hitting the real thing. This newly opened mini golf course located at 413 ½ Rainbow Blvd (behind Country Bounty) features 18 holes with water features, challenging obstacles, and night lighting. The group area is perfect for families and birthday parties.
Tune those skis or board, get a good nights rest, have a healthy breakfast, put a smile on your face, and be prepared for one of the best snow days you’ve ever had!! Monarch Mountain, REAL Colorado!!
Great powder, spectacular views, 1000+ acres of expert terrain, steeps, trees, cliffs, and bowls – that’s Monarch Mountain’s snowcat terrain.
Considered some of the best snowcat skiing in the state, guests enjoy skiing/riding in closely spaced trees, variable snow conditions, and extremely steep slopes.
A normal tour will average 10 to 12 runs per day at an average of 900 vertical feet per run. This is a steep, expert terrain with varying conditions to be expected.
Space is limited to 12 guests per day and the cat runs from the end of December through early April as conditions permit. It’s always a possibility that earlier trips may become available. Keep an eye on the web site or send us an email to be included in our updates on conditions and availability.
“Monarch Powder Cat services 900 acres, all of which are just outside the Monarch ski area boundary. But Monarch Powder Cats proves the old adage that looks can be deceiving. The terrain is steep, the snow falls in copious amounts and the attitude is laid back, which is why FREESKIER tries to fill one of their cats with a bunch of pros every winter for an epic day”
