Winter Tours
Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park has 80 Siberian and
Alaskan huskies. During the winter, the dogs pull
sleds in the forests near Winter Park. They love
their job and can't wait until we have enough snow
to take out guests.
This winter we are offering the ride only option.
Due to trail conditions (trees close to the trail
and some sharp turns) we can not offer the mushing
experience. We hope to offer that again in the
future.
The Ride
On the ride, we can accommodate one, two or three
guests in each sled. We have a weight limit of 325
pounds (147.4 kilograms, 23.2 stones) for the total
weight of all guests in the same sled. There is also
a maximum height restriction of 48 inches (4 feet,
1.21 meters) on the third person. For example, a
mother, father and child can all ride in the same
sled only if their combined weight is 325 pounds or
less and the child is less than 48 inches tall.
During the ride, all passengers remain in the
sled as the experienced musher expertly guides the
sled down the trail. Along the way, the guide will
point out any wildlife tracks (or actual wildlife
such as moose and coyotes), take pictures for the
guests and answer any questions about dogsledding or
local history, attractions and activities.
The trip covers about four or five miles in about
45 minutes. The trails are situated on private
property and we cannot allow guests to walk or ski
on the trails. We get to see some amazing views
along the way including 13 thousand foot peaks, the
Continental Divide, Winter Park Ski Resort, and of
course lots of snow.
When our trails are open, we offer trips everyday
except Tuesday. If there is a major holiday like
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, Superbowl
Sunday or Easter, we take off that day instead of
Tuesday.
Reservations are required for all trips. We have
a
new online reservation system this year ans are
taking reservations primarily online. You must have
a major credit card to pay a 50% or 100% deposit at
the time of booking.

Risks and Rules
If you are coming for a ride with us, it is
helpful to read our risks and rules before you show
up. We will review these with you before your trip,
but if you already know them, your time with us will
be safer and more enjoyable. Also below is a waiver.
If you have a large group coming, it is helpful to
have the liability waiver signed by everyone before
you show up as well. It saves a little check-in
time.
